'ARDAS DAY' FOR THE CHARDI KALA OF ALL SIKH POLITICAL PRISONERS

On Saturday 17th May at Sri Dasmesh Darbar Gurdwara in London, Sikhs from all over the UK came together to perform Sukhmani Sahib paath and enjoy the bliss of kirtan as part of the 'Ardas Day' held for the Chardi kala of all Sikh political prisoners who continue to languish in prison. It was an honour to have Jagtar Singh Hawara's sister in our midst and she addressed the sangat on her brothers birthday. SOPW's Bhai Balbir Singh was also invited to speak among many other guests who took to the stage.

Why was this particular day chosen? Being the birthday of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, it is a timely reminder that he has spent yet another year confined in his prison cell. The Sikh panth remains indebted to our brothers and sisters for the sacrifices they have made in search of Truth, Justice and Freedom.
